Inspiration

Inspiration is necessary for the changing life.  You need it to motivate yourself, to move yourself forward, to make the next step happen.  It is the inspired moment that makes you sprint, makes you decide to jump. It gets you past your fear of failure and “what if” questions. You just can't make the journey without inspiration. It is everything.

Inspiration can be a hard thing to comprehend. It's hard to put your finger on it. You can't manufacture it. You can't "drum it up."  You can try, and maybe you will get a little something. But you can’t really “will it” into being.

Inspiration comes from God. It comes in the knowing that He wants you to do this.  When you read the Bible about His Vision, His Ways, His plans for your life you can hear His Spirit speaking to you.  Your heart beats a little faster; your eyes open a little wider.

Inspiration comes from within your self, from knowing you are prepared and equipped for this journey; you are ready to do this thing. This is your story. The understanding of where you have been and a vision for where you are going motivates you to dig deep and move ahead.  You know you are called.  You are willing to take the risk in front of you.

Inspiration comes from others.  It comes from people who have taken this journey before you and they made it: so can you. Their story inspires you and when you hear it your emotions rise up and fuel you.  It comes from people of influence from afar who cast visions that capture you. You can feel the passion intensifying in you when you hear their message. It comes from people in your life who know you well and they speak into your journey. Their encouraging words inspire you; their belief in you energizes you when you are uncertain or afraid.

So, what do you have to do?  You have to feed the need for inspiration in your life.  You might even have to budget for it, setting aside time, money, and space for it.   Be with inspiring people.  Go to inspiring venues whether it is a concert or conference or library or art gallery. Do something you love to do; do something you have never done before. Whatever works for you.  Whatever motivates you.  Whatever gets you to move to the next step.  Get inspired and get moving.  God is with you, moving, too, and changing you.
