RHYTHM

In a new season it is hard to find a new rhythm.

Really, really hard.

At first you think you know how it’s going to be and you just think you will be able to make it happen. No problem After all, you have complete freedom to make choices on a clean slate. But, change has its challenges. No matter how you come to it.

Routine may seem boring and like a drudgery. But, in fact, routine is full of positive results.

I bought a book called The Monk Manual. Not your usual yearly planner with flower blooms in gold. It says inside, If we can learn how to use it, routine becomes a tool that encourages us to dig deeper—rather than digging everywhere.

I need that.

I want to live with intention. Focus on what is essential. Have a sense of order that lays a foundation for adventure and rest. To discover. Go deeper.

How we spend our time is how we spend our lives. Having a daily, weekly, monthly rhythm helps eliminate distractions so we can get where we want to go. We can trust the process.

I pray I will be able to trust the process. I know it will take courage to do so.

Lord, give me courage!
